of Zero Harm—with absolutely no tolerance of unsafe conditions or behaviors.

Our safety management system integrates visible leadership by senior management, written safety standards, exemplary environmental procedures, and continuous safety improvements. And our innovative SAFE PORTS program (Safe Actions for Everyone—Practice, Observe, Remember, Think, Safety) reinforces our safety priorities, incorporating four vital elements:

Safety standards (for pedestrians, mobile equipment, working at heights, load handling and contractor management).

Terminal Safety Rules And Procedures
Buckle up! Seatbelts are MANDATORY.
No cell phones or ear buds while driving or waiting to be serviced on the terminal.
All trucks LIGHTS ON when arriving on terminal.
ANSI class ii (2) compliant safety vests or safety shirts are MANDATORY. When exiting truck, all drivers must wear ANSI class 2 safety vest or safety shirts, closed in and steel toed (preferred) shoes. Hard hats REQUIRED for all over the road drivers/trucks for breakbulk terminal and warehouse operations.
Obey speed limit at all times - 15 MPH.
Speed limit for the outbound lanes and customs portal is posted at 5 MPH.
Drivers must come to a COMPLETE STOP at all stop signs and/or where STOP is painted on the roadways.
All traffic must follow the designated roadways through the terminal. No cutting across or U-turns through container rows/grids; regardless if area is clear of containers or not.
All drivers MUST stay in their trucks while waiting to be serviced and cannot go into the stacks to look for containers. If drivers do have to get out to adjust pins, safety vest must be worn.
UTN (truck number) must be on both sides of the truck and visibly large enough to read. (Drivers that have changed companies must remove old UTN placards from their truck.
All drivers should have tags in place that are registered to their UTN.
Drivers are PROHBITED from performing any type of repairs to containers or chassis. This also includes cutting seals on empty containers. Drivers should proceed to line repair for servicing.
Top-loaders have the right of way; make sure to make eye contact with them. All drivers should be attentive and listen for the horn signals given by the top-loader while being serviced.
